INTRODUCTION
Babelfish Recruitment has been established to provide a Teacher Recruitment service for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) schools. As former EFL teachers with many years experience in teacher recruitment, we feel very strongly that there is a need for an organisation which can provide professional EFL teachers with the opportunity to work for reputable EFL schools.
At the moment teachers have access to a bewildering amount of information on tefl and no real way of telling a good school from a bad school. Similarly employers are promised millions of potential applications by EFL recruitment websites, with little or no mention of the quality of these applications. We understand that a school needs a teacher - not just a warm body to plug a gap. We will never make promises about millions of applications to choose from, but we will do our very best to find you a qualified, professional EFL teacher with the skills and character to compliment the existing staff and students in your centre.
WHO ARE YOU?
If you provide English lessons to non-native speakers and require a qualified EFL teacher to assist you in this then you would benefit from using our services. It is impossible to underestimate the importance of a teacher to a school - and finding them should not be left to the last moment or conducted via an internet "lucky dip". If you have a dedicated staff member responsible for advertising, sifting, selecting, interviewing and assessing candidates then you probably don't need us. If however, like most schools you have neither the time, money or personnel to conduct recruitment then you need to consider having a professional specialist recruitment company act on your behalf.
WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Easy - An inspirational teacher and model employee. Just paste a few details on a tefl website and sit back and watch those quality applications roll in... for anyone who has scraped through the bottom of the EFL recruitment barrel with a new term on the horizon will know just how frustrating, time-consuming and unpredictable the recruitment process can be - especially with the 1001 other vital things you need to be doing. So how do you find a good teacher without spending hours sifting through those "millions" of applications that keep blocking your inbox every day...?
HOW CAN WE HELP?
Have we mentioned that we are a specialist EFL teacher recruitment agency? We have experience of being teachers and we have experience of employing teachers. We have worked in lots of different cultural and teaching environments - from Playgroup to Business Skills, in places as diverse as Japan, Spain, Egypt, Peru and Yugoslavia. We know what teachers want and what they complain about - we know what schools want and what they complain about. We realise that every centre is different and every teacher is different and we will do our very best to match teachers and schools.
We also understand that each school has different recruitment needs and can offer a variety of services:
- 1. Pre-screening
We can act as a filter and take care of the unsuitable applications who respond to your advertising - only sending you the profiles of those who match your specifications.
- 2. Interviewing
We can interview candidates you have pre-screened and shortlisted. We then provide an assessment (interview appraisal) which allows you to make the right choice.
- 3. Full Recruitment Service
We can take over everything from initial advertising, pre-screening, interviewing, assessing (you have the final decision) offering and coordinating arrival. You simply need to turn up at the airport.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Not as much as you think, and worth every penny/euro/yen/dollar etc etc. We can tailor a package for you which will be dependent on a number of factors including:
- The level of our involvement (simple interviewing vs full recruitment service, for example).
- The qualifications and experience required (newly qualified teacher vs diploma qualified + 5 years experience).
- The location and contract (salary/contract length/hours etc all affect recruitment).
- The number of teachers required (we can agree a per teacher fee or a package fee for larger numbers and can recruit anything from 1-150 teachers).
HOW CAN I FIND OUT MORE?
You can contact us to discuss your recruitment requirements or register with us as an employer (it's free!).
